Glen Affric
Interpretation for one of Scotland’s most beautiful places, including poetry in Gaelic.
Glen Affric is managed by Forestry and Land Scotland (formerly Forestry Commission Scotland), with whom I have worked on many successful projects. Panel designs were developed by Andrew Howard in their interpretation team, and I worked closely with him so that the interpretation content and design would complement each other.
The welcome panels give visitors clear information about sites and trails in the glen, as well as interpreting the native Scots pine forest and its wildlife. Poet Rody Gorman wrote texts in Gaelic and English that give a creative response to the glen. I developed short poems in the two languages for the wildlife trail. A micro website introduced the glen and gave important pre-visit information, as well as giving more details about its stories.
