The website is part of the Flows to the Future project, a major scheme to restore the peat bogs and widen public awareness of their vital role in combatting climate change. The site needed to introduce the impressive but sometimes bleak landscape in a lively, enthusiastic way. It also had to include important key words relating to climate change and conservation management. My work began by planning the content to fit the structure designed by the developers. I then worked closely with project staff to ensure that all scientific information was correct and that the text had the right tone of voice.
I had previously worked on a comprehensive interpretation plan for the project. It was good to be able to carry my knowledge on to implement the website. I’m also developing other schemes within the project such as viewpoints and a new exhibition for a visitor centre.
