Just outside the town of Peebles, Glentress is a beautiful forest that has become a major centre for mountain biking. The forest is also full of archaeological sites from the Bronze and Iron Ages, and I developed two trails that explore these sites. To an untrained eye there is little to see, so I conceived the routes as ‘romances for explorers’: the text is written as if it is taken from diaries kept by people who used to roam these hills.
